Default 96-00 headers for civic

Is there any reason why headers that will fit 92-95 all and 96-00 ex(sohc) only, not fit 00 dx? What's different about the 00 ex and 00 dx except that it is vtec?

i believe with the dx header it has the catalytic converter in the actual header.

if you bought a new one i hope you got an exhaust because it wont fit on your stock exhaust between the header and the b pipe

i got a DC header on my DX hatch and a greddy b pipe, i had to get a cat to make it work but instead i got a test pipe
good luck

What is a test pipe? Someone is giving me a free 4" muffler because his dad works at a car dealership. It was off of a 92-95 civic. Thanks.

the only drawbacks of the test pipe are that you won't pass emmissions, sometimes smells bad, and makes your exhaust much louder. I like mine though . I could tell a difference in higher rpm's.

the cat for dx is built into the header, so the mid pipe for the ex is actually shorter because it has a cat seperately from the header...

that wont bolt right on i believe
i got a 97 hatch and had to have a custom test pipe because the b pipe was made for a 92-95 hatch which is the same as the dc2 integra's,
so i had to have a test pipe that was like 3 inches longer to make it work
good luck on yours

I bolted a Y8 header right onto my Apexi Catback (made for my hatch) with no problems.

Edit: Took me a hot minute to find a donut gasket that would work, and BTW, the header is for sale now, if you are looking for one!

Naw, i don't need one. I just bought DC sport headers (ceramic) 4-2-1 2 peice and i got a cheap $40 bucks Bomz high-flow cat and i am getting a free muffler, so...does that sound like everything i will need. It should bolt right on. And whatever for the muffler. How much welding?

such ricerness. Gonna have to get the piping re-done for it, which isn't much. Go to an exhaust shop, should be under $100.
