Default 96-00 civic hatch w/ h22 people

If you have done this swap in your hatch can you tell me if its worth it what to look for performance number? I hear so many conflicting things about it but thought let me just ask the guys who have one.

Its a good swap if you are on a tight budget.. if you have the money i would get a GSR motor.. but for the money h22 is a nice swap

h22/h23/f20b are the future of honda swaps.

Do it.

You are correct. Now that the H series have a father the K series. Everyone will start to evolve from the B series.

JDM H22a is definatley around 180-190whp with bolt ons. If you have Type S JDM h22a you will break 200whp easily with bolt ons. But stock for stock, h22 makes more power to the wheels than an b series. The weight is nothing to go crazy about. If you think so, then tell everyone to take the turbo kits off of their gsr's and b16's

^^ LOL, a full blooded H swap MIGHT weigh 25 lbs more than a b-series. Relocate the battery if it makes you uncomfortable.

I've actually had people tell me they weigh 200lbs more and it causes extreme understeer issues and even cracks in the front subframe.

ROFL

I can assure you EVERY K swap once installed weighs more than an H swap
I can also be sure that any turbo D weighs more than an H swap too.

Dont get me wrong I wasnt sayin there was a weight problem I was just stating that it doesn't way to much more then the b's it is about 22lbs mayb a little more after all said and done...and ur right after turbo's are put on a d or b series it will out way a H and so will a K series

I mean turbos arent a weight reduction lol!!

I cant wait til I drop my H22a inthe ej ferio and slam it. I might never drive the ej8

Huh?

Type s is definitely a fun setup. my only complaint is my inability to follow the posted speed limit and expedition of speed. All that wheel hop broke my rack'n pinion, but that's my fault.

EDIT: also ground clearance kinda sucks.

What's a gsr type-r?

Most h22's do 13's.

Real type-rs do 13's in LIGHT cars.

gsr's do 15's-14's stock.

you cant really compare them. type r does well in a lite car, like EKguy said.

still tho h22 > typR > GSR
stock 4 stock
dont let anyone fool you, TQ wins races.

when my h22a4 was bone stock in my coupe, i shat a typR hatch.

Consider driver skill too.

B18C5-EH2's hatch (EH/ITR swap) was beating EH/Lude swaps. On avergae, comparing the swaps in the same cars the ITR was winning by 0.5 of a second. The driver makes the race and drag times.

I wanna see some H2B's numbers.

wow wow you guys are saying h22's ....not very specific..

JDM h22a.....powerfull
USDM H22a1.......meh almost the same
USDM H22a4...........sucks *****...

your saying every h22 make it in the 13's.....not quite...

im lucky if i can get in the low 14's with my STOCK H22a ej8

and as for the weight issues ...H22 weigh almost the same as a K swap...

But i am saying this for you to understand...

JDM H22a with a conversion harness from obd1-obd2 work AWSOME in a 99-00 civic...you get wayyyyyy much power than a stock GSR and GSR cost around 3500 for (motor/tranny/ECU)...i paid 2500 for (motor/tranny/ECU)...and (since im from canada).....i paid 4200$ for my full swap...that inclueds every little nik naks....from prestone to the motor itself.

so just my point of view....Go H22a or go HOME...

I love the h22 swap in my ek. The extra power is worth the extra 100 lbs over the B18

Wanna bet?

How much do you think a turbo, steel piping, turbo manifold, blow off valve, and steel downpipe, weigh?

~50lbs easy.
