alright let me re explain this a little better. when i first start the car it idles and sounds fine, but as i drive down the road and shift gears it seems to lose its power and slowly gain it back, but as soon as i put my foot into the gas it bogs right down.. even if i drop gear it does the same thing. when i come to a stop sign or put it in neutral and cost down the road my idle drops almost to the point of my car shutting down but barely stays running.. then has trouble when i take off again. seems like almost to much gas or air to the engine but im not to mechanically talented more along the lines of body work, but this is what ive noticed while driving sorry if this isnt enough but anything will help at this point..

With your lame explanation, 1st thing I would do is check to see if your cat is bad. The honeycomb might have broken apart and each time you step on the gas it blocks the exhaust and you don't get any power. Pull out your O2 sensor and go on a drive and see if it runs correctly now. If it does, your cat is bad, if it doesn't you will need to explain yourself better. Dont forget to put the O2 back in after you are done.

Theres a green plug under the glovebox. Use a paperclip and put one end into one spot and the other into the other. If the cel blinks, than it works and you can see if you have a code.
But I would do a full blown tune up on the car and see if that fixes it. Start with the obvious first, than work to the more complex.

cel goes off after plugging the sensor back in and i dont think its stripped i just dont have an offset wrench on hand to get the right grip on it. more than likely just going to pull the cat off and see if its plugged up that way..

the gaskets in the throttle body are the problem aslso i tink there is an O ring aswell in the t/b. it is a sohc engine yes. the models are different in ireland. that is your problem. when changing the gaskets also clean out the throttle body so its all clean inside.
