95 EG hatch B18CR cold start idle at 1k
Okay so my motor runs real good and is healthy, but when I cold start, my car just idles as if it's warmed up. Idles at 1k until I give it a bit of gas then it might go up to 1.2k-ish.
Any idea why it's idling like that? I haven't checked my IACV yet but I'm going to later this evening. Gonna give it some cleaning, but I hear some people say that their idle is worst after cleaning or messing with their IACV, so I'm sort of just sitting here. A wise man once said if it ain't broke don't fix it.
So in my case it's not really broken but I just want it to idle normally on a cold start up, any suggestions?

If it idles at spec after warming up, then there's nothing to fix.
Idle speed is determined by the engine temperature. The higher the temp, the lower the idle speed.
