im sorry for being a dick, it does makes sense but that is the dumbest thing i have ever heard
all civics 88-00 have metal shift linkage regardless of cable or hydraulic orientation
Hydraulic tranny- uses a hydraulically assisted clutch system easily identified by the clutch resevoir on the driver side shock tower, it will be the small one next to the brake master cylinder resevoir
Cable Tranny- uses a cable assisted clutch look for the adjuster on top of the tranny
any delsol is hydraulic as for tranny codes even if the sticker is there i wouldnt go by it, sometimes the codes don't match up to the tranny, someone may have switched the tags to sell a LS tranny as a GSR tranny which is completely dick but it happens if you ask me the only real way to know is to crack open the tranny and start countin teeth on the ring gear.
unless your positive the car has never been messed with in which case it'd be pretty safe to assume you've got yourself a hydraulic B16 tranny.

How is that the dumbest thing you have ever heard? cable trannys do not have a long metal bar going from the bottom of the shifter to the back of the transmission. They have that go from the bottem of the shifter box to the top of the tranny.
