The rear hatch is sloped on the '96 for simple apperance starters. You also have to contend with OBD II on the '96 which is not a problem on the '95. And as far as I know you can find alot more aftermarket parts for the 95 than you can for the 96, not that there aren't alot for the 96 but just not as much.
