95 civic DX, stock 1.5L 4 door won't start, need advice
Hello all...
OK so the car will not start.. no crank, click, nothing. No lights, no power to the instrument panel, horn, blowers, anything. The ONLY thing that works is the "ding ding ding" when you put the key in. Let me list out what I have done, so no one immediately says "battery" and doesn't read the whole thing
. replaced battery. verified good with voltmeter.
. checked all fuses, under hood and under dash, all good
. checked continuity on ignition switch terminals in all 3 positions - good.
Anyway, it was working just fine until it stopped suddenly, then its as if it were dead. The only conclusion I can come up with from the electrical diagram is the ICU - the Integrated Control Unit.
Does this make sense? Does anyone know where this is so I can look at it and replace it if necessary? Any and all advice would be highly appreciated.
thanks,
adam

I had the exact same issue. It ended up being the distributor. Since the distributor went I ended getting the main relay changed aswell just to avoid any more issues.

Hey deathadder....
Just wondering though... a distributor would make it not have lights, horn, dashboard power? I mean it really seems like even with a faulty distributor you would get headlights or a horn?
Not that familiar with Hondas, but is that even possible? Do you know how i can test it?
Thanks a bunch, lots of good suggestions!

Hey..
no, haven't had time to look at it today, but it doesnt sound dumb at all. FWIW its a new battery, and the connections on the posts *seem* OK, but I guess that doesn't mean the ground cable itsself is good eh?
I will probably run out and check it tomorrow.
thanks, keep em comin'

Well folks, that worked... The chassis end of the ground cable was either not tight enough, or had a bit of corrosion. Either way, I took it off, polished everyting up, and she started on the first crank :-)
Thanks to everyone!!
