So my mothers 94 Civic is overheating, and she replaced both the radiator hoses that ruptured.

She claims that it overheats and after letting it cool down and opening the radiator cap, the coolant level was low that it appeared that it didn't have any. This was after we topped it off.

Now, on my 87' MR2, I disconnected the temp sensor on the radiator, so that the fans would be on 100% of the time. They claim this will solve their problems.

I am wondering, since they literally won't stop bugging me about it, does the 94' Honda Civic have a temp sensor on the radiator that I can disconnect, and force the radiator fan to be on all the time.

I tried disconnecting a plug that was near the cap that seemed to lead to the radiator fan motor, but I think that is what is powering the fan motor.

Running a fan 100% of the time the car is running doesn't help the fact that you're losing coolant. Sounds you've been drastically overheating and now the head is most likely warped.

I'm sure you're right, but the engine was replaced a 2-3 years ago with a JDM engine. So, hopefully it isn't the head.

Either way, how can I get it to run the fans all the time?

Run it to a switch.

And it doesn't matter when the engine was replaced. If it's being constantly driven around overheating, to the point hoses are blowing off of it, I can almost bet that the head is warped NOW.

Disconnect the 2P fan switch plug on the thermostat housing and short it with a jumper wire. This will make the fan run any time the key is ON(II). But as Marc pointed out, this may be a Band-Aide fix for a larger problem.
