Default 94 hatchback/D16a6 swap for $1K?

alright so for easter i was out visiting my grandparents, and being the good ppl they are, they spotted out a 94 civic hatchback up the road that the guy had stopped driving ( cause he bought an s2000) anyways being the import freak i am, i went up to take a look at it, he said that he would give it away for 1000$. im trying to figure if that is a good price for one..it has 18 inch rims, racing seats, projector headlights, and a d16a6? with about 35000 kms on it. but living in the place i do, i know it needs rockers, and quarters..let me know what you guys think of the price! thanks

Don't buy someone elses project. Especially if it's already plagued with rust.

I'm familiar with the area, they all have serious rust, plus it's a fairly small island, there isn't much there to choose from.

For $1,000 it seems like a decent deal. It's going to be a project for sure. If you're going to do all of that work to whichever Honda you buy, might as well be one with a solid engine.

You can't expect us to know even a fraction of what you do about a car you've seen for sale somewhere.
