I drive a 94 honda civic hatchback and of about a week ago i began to have difficulties with shifting. When the problem first started I was unable to shift into 2nd and 4th gear. The problem lasted for about 2 days then shifting from 1st to 5th appeared to be functioning normally for about 3 days. Then today on my drive him my shifter wouldn't engage into 1st or 2nd. When attempting to shift from neutral to 1st I have attempt to shift into first then wobble the shifter left and right for my car to get into gear. I'm going to raise up my car tomorrow to see if anything looks funny with the shifter rod. Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

When your car is turned off and parked can you shift it into all the gears?

With the car running does the car grind or make a bad noise when you try to shift? If so, probably your master/slave need to be replaced.
