94 civic ex - low gas mileage problem
I have a 94 Honda civic ex with 83xxx miles..my problem is I'm only getting 150 miles to a tank..
I have done a full tune up
Checked for vacuum leaks(no leaks)
Tested fuel injectors(no problems)
Plz help. Don't know what else to check

Yes my cluster works fine. No problems
Could my timing be off or would it effect how the car starts too..cause it starts fine

Re: 94 civic ex - low gas mileage problem
I'm having nearly the same issue with my 97 dx sedan. On average I'm only getting 22.8mpg city and I drive it very moderately. I take it easy on acceleration and keep my following distance open to prevent hard breaking. I've done all the same checks on fuel..pressure, no codes being thrown, no leaks, I just can't figure it out. The Haynes manual says that ignition timing could a contributing factor, but the local Honda dealership just recently did the timing. Is it possible they've screwed me out of some serious mileage and if so how can I tweak the timing to get better mileage? Don't mean to hack the thread, just having the same issue. Maybe the OP could benefit from this as well.
It should be noted that the car has had the head gasket replaced, new timing belt, new plugs, new wires, new water pump, new pcv, and the valves adjusted (by Honda dealer). Everything on the car is stock.
