94 civic EX COUPE D16z6 FUEL FILTER install question HELP (PIC)
Im in the middle of installing a new oem fuel filter not fuel pump filter but the one that is located in the engine bay right of the battery. I noticed that there was hole in the banjo bolt. Does this bolt need to line up with the hole in the fuel line. I have been reseating the banjo bolt like crazy trying to line it then tighten it down to the 16 ft/lb but it is not lining up. My manual says nothing about lining them up. Can someone that has done this please chime in soon so that I can wrap this up tonight. If you dont know but know someone that does, can you please call them to confirm? Thanks folks

i found a pick of other banjo bolts, there is no way that one could line these up and tighten to spec. You would lose where the bolt hole would be in a matter of turns. Btw, not that I dont believe you guys that said it doesnt matter. Just want to be sure. Even if I dont wrap things up tonight, better safe than sorry.

see how the neck where the hole is is not the same diameter as the threads?
it does not have to line up. fuel comes up from the bottom of the bolt and goes out that hole. the buldge in the fitting is open all the way around, and will find its way into the fuel feed line.

I've never had a problem/worried about lining up, and I've chaneged it 3 times, If your really worred about it fasturbo makes a braided fuel line from the filter to the rail. looks good and performs well also it eliminates the banjo fitting! just some food for thought.
