Default 94 Civic dx question

I have a friend that is selling her 94 dx coupe. I want to know what is a good price for the car. She wants $1000 for it.
I want to use the car for my project car/track car with the occasional daily drive
Here is what is wrong with the car:
It has a salvaged title (she doesn't know why, she got the car from her brother)
It has 230,000 miles on body and motor
It has a bad "throttle bearing". It is going out
4th gear grinds bad
Some keyed "BITCH" into the passenger door (doesn't look deep may be able to buff it out, or lightly sand it.)
The front bumper has a medium sized crack right below the driver side headlight
The body has a few small dents in the rear driver side quarter panel, and the hood has a few dings in it
It has no power steering

The good:
It is a 5spd
It has a/c but I will probably yank it out when i swap the motor
The interior is in pretty good condition, nothing a good detail can't fix
I plan on putting my 00 civic coupe back to stock (because I am gonna trade it in for a newer vehicle), and most of the parts that I have on my coupe, will switch over to the 94 coupe.
It has a 94 ex front lip on it already in somewhat good condition
It still runs

I plan on gutting the car and making it a track car/project. It will be somewhat gutted from the front seats to the back of the car.

Do you guys think it is worth a $1000. or should I try to get it cheaper or wait and look for something better?
I will try to take pics tomorrow if I can.
Any help would be appreciated.

there is no such thing as a throttle bearing.. it might be a throw out bearings... replacing that might fix the 4 gear grind... that involves drop the trasmission.. other then that if the car drives thats a decent deal... i would give her $800 unless he was hot then i would work something else out.. but be warned this girl might be a bitch
