94 civic cx hatchback/b20b block - temp gauge going up...
wel i cant seem to figure out this problem on my civic, after u drive for 30 mins or so, u come to a stop and le the car idle, the temp slowly goes up to the HOT, if u turn the ignition off and turn it back to ON the temp drops down to normal range, but as soon as u start it, it slowly goes back up to HOT, and for some reason it takes forever for my fan to come on, even when the temp goes up the fan doesn't even turn on until it want to.
things ive changed so far, fan switch sensor, thermal stat.

Are you losing any coolant? Does jumping the 2P fan switch connector on the thermostat housing prevent the engine from overheating? Have you tried bleeding the cooling system?

no im not loosing any coolant, when i jump the fan then it keeps the temp in check in normal range, and i try bleeding it from the water neck but only coolant came out, no air.

It might be beneficial to let the car idle for a while with the radiator cap off...I had a terrible overheating issue that turned out to be an air pocket in the coolant.
It really sounds like your fan switch isn't functioning correctly, temp creeping at a stop would indicate that you're heating up when there's no air on the radiator...

yea i think the fan switch is not turning on when its suppose to, i had a street tunning session earlier and the temp was rising up in the 200 degree, so i kno that my gauge is reading accurately and not just acting up, the only way to cool it was to manually jump the fan and let it run all the time, btw motor runs alot better now after the street tune.

i say drain the coolant, get a nice dual core, re bleed the system. your problems will be solved. when is the last time you changed your water pump and what are you running for coolant (mix) %
