Default 93 Honda Civic EG9

ok so I have the chance to pick up a 93 civic 4 door 5spd, it has an d16y7 in it, obd2 non vtec, the only problem is it doesn't run right, possible wiring issue, I am getting an awesome deal, trading him a golf cart and $300, I'm just wondering if its worth getting involved with, any input will be greatly appricieated
