93 EG white smoke from exhaust HELP!!!
Hey guys, so I ended up doing a swap on my eg from a d15b7 to a d15b vtec-e everything came out fine, since I'm running the engine without the vtec wired up. The problem with it is that today when I finally started the car for the first time, it smoked white from everywhere which is normal.
Then after an hour and half or so it still kept smoking from the exhaust. The smoke is whitish, since its in bright day it's kind of hard to distinguish between bluish or grayish. I was thinking if the catalytic converter could be messed up since my d15b7 went to crap after water went into the engine. Any help or perspectives?
Thanks guys I would greatly appreciate it.

No I'm not losing coolant but my stepdad did not change the im gasket. Also it smells like burnt oil in the front by the engine. He claims that it could be that after effect that I put 10-30 oil instead of his suggestion 20-50.

That's what I told him but he shuns me cause he's the dopeass mechanic according to him.he says that's better for the civic since the engine looks old. The oil I changed from it was black as ****.

I personaly would not run it that thick. It can look old from someone never cleaning it. I would run the recommended weight and see how it runs... You can always go thicker if need be.

He never changed the intake manifold gasket and after I did the oil change and it still shoots out white smoke. Its frustrating and the place I bought it from will only do exchanges not give me my money back.

Plain and simple. Thats what it is. White smoke= head gasket. If it smells like oil, then you got more problems. Smell the exhaust. If you smell oil, then your rings are going bad as well. But your white smoke is a head gasket.
P.S.- Your dad is an idiot. Tell him I said that. Guessing from what oil weight he told you, I'm guessing he works on trucks? Tell him to stick with his trucks and we will handle your Honda needs..

White smoke does NOT definitively mean head gasket. It could be a cracked head. Also as somebody stated above, the IM gasket, which has that rubber ring around the coolant port could be bad. Does your oil have coolant in it? Coolant have oil in it?
