Default 93 DX Idle Issue...CAI The Cause??? Bad Voltage to a Sensor?

I just bought a rust free Dx for $1400 and noticed that on the cold air intake there is a hole that i believe a certain sensor belongs in. Could this be what makes my civic's idle vary heavily when i stop at redlights. It makes the car jerk back and forth so i have to put it in neutral. They also said one of my sensors by the air intake manifold is only getting 5 volts when it should be getting 12. I'm sick and tired of dealing with this problm can someone help me! I just bought a stock intake and an air temp sensor that i'm going to put on to see if it solves the issue.
