93 civic/ls swap -- no spark or fuel after kill switch installation
Hey guys, I'm not used to working on honda's, (toyota guy) but anyways I bought a 93 civic and did a ls motor swap. the car started and ran for about 4 to 5 weeks. I decided that after someone attempted to steal the car, I would install a kill switch. Started the civic up, and pulled it into the garage (all in the matter of 2 minutes) turned the car off. so i clipped one wire and put it on a switch. ever since then i have not been able to start the car at all.
I have checked/changed:
spark plugs
coil
cap/rotor
main relay
ground wires(all in engine bay only) not sure if there are any other
all the fuses..
new fuel pump
ecu
brand new dizzy/distributor
maybe more but not sure
Update: i replace the ignition now and still nothing
Let me know what you guys think. I'm stumped.
thanks in advance

Re: Help! no spark, no fuel
what kind of switch did you use??? those cheapy plastic switches from autozone are really only good for a few amps. possible you couldve toasted the switch?? try removing the switch and reconnecting the wire itself and see if it starts.

i use the ones from menards. but i have wired it back to the wire itself and still no spark, no fuel, changed the main relay under the dash already, (4 times actually)

Re: Help! no spark, no fuel
i bought a new ecu, after i thought i fried the ecu but installed that one in my integra and it worked just fine. I have also changed all my fuses and they have not popped one either. but the wire i cut was a yellow wire with green stripe on it. It is the power to the fuel pump but even that i put it right back and it has not started with no fuel or spark.

Re: Help! no spark, no fuel
Tip never wire in a switch to the fuel pump direct, always wire the switch in with a relay, otherwise you will eventually end up frying the switch. Honestly whenever you don't get fuel or spark at the same time its usually the Main relay, ran across it many many times. Got me stumped, I'll ask around and do a little research.

Re: Help! no spark, no fuel
Yeah but i installed the kill switch to my integra and 3 other civics. they were fine no shorting of wires or anything. But I've changed the main relay like 4 times so I'm thinking that it may be a ground or something in the dash. but i'm thinking about pulling the fuse box out of the dash and inspecting one wire at a time.

Re: Help! no spark, no fuel
ok so now i have used a check light to see if it was getting any power to the fuel pump. I hooked up one end to the positive cable and touched the other to the power line for the fuel pump and the light lite up. so that means that the car is grounding somewhere. right?

Re: Help! no spark, no fuel
so i thought if i left the car alone for a couple of weeks maybe it will start. No hope. lol. so i just noticed that the check engine light stays on too and was wondering what could this be? couldn't get the car to through any codes though. any help or thought would be nice.

Re: Help! no spark, no fuel
Did you jump the service connector to pull the codes? Or did you do this and the light stays on steady? If the latter is true, double check fuse 31 and 24 and then check whether the G101 ground on the thermostat housing is clean and tight.

Re: Help! no spark, no fuel
Ok so i cleaned out the ground, but where is fuse 31 and 24? thanks. also the car won't start up so i don't think i can pull up any codes.

Re: Help! no spark, no fuel
Fuse 24, aka ACG (S) 15A, supplies power to both the ECU and fuel pump. It's a very important fuse.
Whenever you (5th gen Civic) have a crank but no start problem, always first check fuses 31, 24, and 18.
The equivalent fuses for a 6th gen Civic are #s 44, 31, and 13.
