92 vx brake fade
its a 92 vx with around 277k miles. The only mods that i think effected the brakes are the em1 wheels i have on it. It got where everytime i was almost to a dead stop (5-10mph) the brakes quit working. Since i had lifetime warrenty pads on the front i replaced them since it was free. I bleed the brakes twice but it still isnt braking right. Sorry about grammar stuff. Tia

If the brake pedal falls to the floor, the brakes are properly bled, and there is no fluid leak, then you are pretty safe to assume that the master cylinder is bad.

Re: 92 vx brake fade
the true definition of brake fade is somethign along the lines of "applying pedal pressure but the car isnt stopping". brake fade is very common on cars that drive up and downhill alot and for those people who ride the brakes. brake fade is overheating the brakes until the brake fluid starts to boil.
if this is the case then add new brake fluid..preferably one with a higher boiling point (so dot 4). dot 3 and 4 are mixable but dot 5 shouldnt be even thought of.
what i beleive your talking about is a "sinking pedal at stoplights". this is commonly known as a bad master cylinder or even a brake fluid leak somewhere or air in the system.
you can rule some out pretty easilly... are you adding brake fluid? did you just work on the system recently?
sometimes when you try bleeding the bleeder screws dotn work just right due to rust/corrosion or whanot.
what method are you using to bleed the brakes?
when you open the bleeder screws... how does the fluid come out? quick stream? minor drip? no drip?

Re: 92 vx brake fade
I meant lazy as i dont feel like swapping the mc to find out it was something else. I bleed them fl, fr, bl then br which was wrong according to the writeup in the brakes section. I only had to add fluid once like a month ago. Quite a bit of fluid came out when i bleed them.
