Default 92 civic front bumper

ok so this is the deal... i went out and picked up n aftermatket OEM front bumper for my car (92 hatchback SI) i just try to put it on today after about a week... i went out and took my bumper off and try to put the new one on.. i ran into a problem and the bumper seems to be too short (hight) the 5 bolts on the top (under the hood) will not line up.. its about 2 inches too short.. i went and matched it up with the bumper thats on my car right now.. and i saw that the bumper is about 2 inch shorter then the one i have on my car...

now heres the question.. i thought that the 2 dr hatch and 2 dr coupe both have the same bumper... (thats wut that guy said to me) and i know for sure that this bumper is for a 2dr.. cause it has the vents for the foglights... can any1 help me with this?? thanks alot

some pics would be great to help us see how bad it is. sometimes aftermarket stuff just fits bad but this sounds like it is really warped or wrong part.

well sense you must have recked the frontend, im just guessing it might be off a few inches. but it might just need a little love to get on there -.-. if it helps it took me 3 hours to get my delsol bumper on after my little wreck, nothing fits better than oem.
edit: also are you attaching the top part first, cause you need to imo.

the problem is not that the holes won't line up, the problem is the you have a aftermarket bumper. 98% of the time aftermarket body parts don't fit right.
pick up a factory oem bumper from the dealer, and remember every honda askes for it.

You get what you pay for.

Try letting it sit out in the sun for a couple hours to soften up and it should open up more to slide on.

No joke. It's going to seem like it doesnt fit at first but it will. I don't really know how to explain it but you just need to sort of pull it up and over...then push it in until you can get the top holes to line up. Done it MANY times.

It's like trying to pull your bottom lip on your face over your nose.

it will fit. do it like the other guy said. you have to push it up and over the bumper. try putting the top on first, and then pull down on the bottom of the bumper to fit it over it.

LOL...I sure I did sometime in my childhood...but it's the only way I can explain it to help this dude.

The foglights really shouldn't have any interference. I did this exact thing a few months ago. New OEM replacement and put on my foglights...I know exactly what you're going through. Just keep trying...after a few tugs and pulls and pushing and jerking it around you'll get it to settle into place. It took a few tries for me but it finally went where it was supposed to. Good luck.

ok im looking at buying a new bumper for my car cuz i ruined the bumper while sanding it and then i didnt realize how hard it would be to get the paint out of the grill area where it was painted by someone else.... im hoping that ebay replacement like the stock ones will work. what kind of bumper yours and where did you buy it?

i had this same problem on my car, with an OEM bumper. its because my bumper support was hanging too low (means its been hit of course)

try taking off the bumper support. if it fits then, i would say you have a bent radiator support.

worth a shot anyways

ok the war is over... the bumper is on...

i try it on today with the foglights off.... had to fight a little to get the top part to fitover the 5 bolts under the hood... after i fitted it on the car, i took the bumper off the car again and put the oem forlights on... and this time when itry to put it on it was a little harder due to the foglight brackets... but with afew kicks and bunch and lift and slams.. the bumper went on at last! so there for some of u guys were right about it just needs a little love and like i said.. this car has never been hit
heres a pix of the aftermath
