92 Civic EG - how to tune the twin carbs?
Everyone talks about doing FI swaps and all of that but nobody says anything about the humble carburetors that are on many of these cars, particularly with the D series engine. The few threads I do see all say to swap over to webers, etc. There was one thread but the link was broken - apparently theres a guy out there who does work on the carbs.
I live on top of a hill and my twin keihin carb'ed car doesn't even reach the speed limit on the way up (around 30mph). Is there any way to increase the power of the carbs without having to do an entire swap? Perhaps cut the springs in the carbs, an adjustment screw or some sort of tuning how-to?
in other words, any way to make my honda any bit closer in performance to a 92 nissan with a 2 litre engine?

Europe and japan got dual carbs on lower end models. All we got in north america was multiport fuel injection so theres not many people on H-T with expirence tuning carbs.

Its also got a mechanical fuel pump behind the head that runs off an extra lobe on the cam.
If it was a 5 speed and tuned right it would probably work pretty decent.

You carbs are out of sync and to be re-sync. The samething applies to our modern fuel injected motorcycles but they are throttle bodies that need to be sync together. You need sync sticks.
