92 Civic DX HB convert from blue interior to black
First, I have used the search function, but maybe I am wording it wrong. Either way, I wanted to convert my interior from blue, to black, and wanted to see if anyone had any advice on this, or had done this before, and did they get all the parts from junk yards? I have a 92' dx hb, any advice would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance everyone.

I'm in Newark NJ, and it's mint. Literally the last owner passed away and her son sold the car after.

Did anyone ever do a write-up on this? What can I salvage, from this interior, what parts do I need to buy besides the obviously visual things?

Re: 92 Civic DX HB convert from blue interior to black
I literally took out every visible interior piece and painted them black myself. Except the doors...I painted the doors black, but put grey inserts in them. I didn't want to mess with painting that cloth. Same goes for the seats, used oem black/grey interior is usually pretty cheap. Or get some gsr leathers. Everything came out really well in my car, and looks stock to anyone who doesn't know what the oem interior of a civic is supposed to look like. Plus, spending $30 on paint and painting what you can is probably a lot cheaper than buying all brand new interior pieces.

I have converted the interior of my '92 hatch from gray to black (CX vinyl).
Got everything from my old CX.
Beside plastic and metal clips and fasteners that you may break during removal, you won't need anything special.

OP: I would buy all the new clips from http://www.hondaautomotiveparts.com/ and swap them during the conversion. You'll have a much tighter interior and minimize potential rattles.
Also... years ago I would have recommended against painting plastic panels, but after trying the Krylon Fusion paint for plastic on my glovebox, I must say that it can be done. The paint stuck so well and has been holding up great, so I would consider that option as well. Just wash the panels with dish soap, scrub with a clean toothbrush and rinse them thoroughly. Let them dry well and follow the instructions on the spray can. It will come out nicely.
Good luck.

Also Camoner, what do you mean "what do I do about the rear bench"? I'm not exactly understanding the question...if you're wondering about fitment, the seats from the gsr sedan will fit in an eg better than the seats from a gsr coupe. There's a bit of a gap on either side when using the rear seats from the gsr coupe...if that's not what you're asking feel free to expound a bit.

'94-01 gsr sedan. It all depends. If you're converting the whole interior, I say wait as long as you can until a really good deal pops up. I got my rear gsr leathers for $50 in mint cond, and a set of fronts just went for $100 in my town on Craigsist...those are really good prices. Try and find something like that.
