92 Civic caliper piston size????
Does anyone know the caliper piston size for a 92 Civic Si? I am upgrading the front brakes with prelude calipers. I am trying to calculate for the increase in piston size so I can correctly determine what size master cylinder to upgrade to. I have read too many times that a 13/16th's isnt enough, and a 15/16ths/ 1" MC is too hard to get to brake(you have to use more effort).
I have search HT all over, and could not find this measurement. I did find out that the Prelude calipers are 57mm pistons.

Honestly, I didnt think the prelude caliper bolted up to the knuckles of the civic/integra.
But if you are upgrading to a 57mm piston, there is no issue with a 1" cylinder at all.
I actually ran a 1" mc with the same sized calipers as your si, and it was firm (absolutely) but it was not "too hard" by any means. Very driveable, if not requiring some time to get used to
Oh, and I dont remember the size of the ex/si caliper pistons...

If you're going to be using 17CL15VN calipers, you're going to want at least a 15/16" MC. Those cars come stock with 1" MCs IIRC.

i have a 92 si eg and the brakes are different than the ex ...but they are the same size as 91 crx si...your best bet is to upgrade the entire knuckle go with either a ex or integra setup your options to upgrade those pistons can get pretty sick..

The rotors are the same size but the front calipers are different. The '90-91 CRX Si has a beefier front caliper (16CL13VN) with a larger piston. It also has a larger master cylinder (7/8" vs. 13/16") and a different proportioning valve.
