92 A/C Compressor/Condenser Shot.. Possible 94-95 A/C Co
Opinions needed..
I have a 92 EG and my compressor and condenser are both original (currently using the R134a conversion kit) but the compressor is now leaking from the body itself. This means: time to replace the compressor and condenser. Now I was about to just buy new ones and install the same R134a conversion kit, but I thought about buying a 94-95 compressor and condenser. This would be so I do not have to use a conversion and I believe the A/C components that are meant to be run on R134a blow colder with the correct freon.
What other parts would I have to change over from my current setup if I wanted to do a full 94-95 conversion?
What are you opinions on this matter as opposed to just replacing whats broke? My air was never really frigid when the compressor worked properly, so I think that a 94-95 system would work better.

Re: 92 A/C Compressor/Condenser Shot.. Possible 94-95 A/C Co
the conversion consist of hose adaptors for you a/c lines, compressor oil and refrigerant. the compressor you choose will not matter ( and 92-00 d series), just add new oil and refrigerant to the system once parts are replaced, dont forget to put the system under a vacuum before you add refrigerant.
Why are you replacing the condensor? they dont go bad unless its has been physically damaged.
and the reason it probaly never got frigid to begin with is that the a/c system probaly got air/non condensables in it due to continuous topping of the charge

a 92 converted a/c system will be just as cold as a 94 up a/c system if done properly, you absolutely have to pull a VACUUM on the system before recharging after any componet replacement or conversion
