92-95 Hatch or Coupe?
I'm looking for a 92-95 Civic Hatch or Coupe...Which would you guys consider...I'm not really planing on going fast or anything but just a nice b-series motor would do fine...Both to me are really nice looking cars but i can't seem to decide....I think it would be cool if we had a poll on how many members have a hatch or coupe and see which most people perfer...
Also not to be off topic but, I have a 99-00 Civic SI spoiler up for grabs. Give me an offer and Take it!
Thanks Guys!

i have a 92 si hatch....i love it, and most people with hatches would say the same thing, and with a good motor swap or built z6, you will zoom zoom

whichever you like more .....the hatch is a little lighter, but the if you're not really interested in being a h4rdc0r3 r4c3r (sorry, I just can't help myself sometimes)....and you're just looking to do a nice little swap and keep it pretty clean, then I'd say whichever suits your style better..
I like my hatch because I have to travel a lot, as well as pick up things (like my drum set, motors, parts)...and yes, an entire drum set fits in my hatch without a problem - of course, it'd fit in a coupe too, but it's just easier for me to unload from the hatch.

well just so you know, everyone and their grandmas (literally) have hatches, but do what youwant, the dx/vx hatches are the lightest i think so if you are going for performance go with those

I guess the "Si" Model doesn't count. Known fact that the CX/VX & DX weigh less, but it's miss information to say that all hatch's weigh less than the coupe/sedan.

Get whatever you want. I'd personally buy whatever is cheaper and has less rust . . . I personally think the hatchback looks more sporty, and they appear to be much more common than coupes here on H-T - but in my area they are not easy to find (particularly with good bodies).
Try to ignore generalizations like "the hatch is lighter" or "the coupe has more features" because these are not true in all cases, only most. For example, the DX coupe is lighter than the Si hatchback - and the Si hatchback has more features than the DX coupe. And of course, most features can be added or deleted later on; say for example, you get a hatchback and you want power windows - you could easily source them from an EX coupe and install them yourself with the aid of the many write-ups found here on H-T.
Some things to keep in mind:
- hatchbacks came in CX, VX, DX, and Si trim (search the internet for feature lists)
- coupes came in DX and EX trim (search the internet for feature lists)
- the coupe has a slightly longer wheelbase
- the hatchback is more practical for hauling cargo
- some models were only available with certain interior/exterior color combinations

i got a 93 si hatch I like the body style of the hatch compared to a coupe, but its preference. I also picked a hatch because it has more passenger room but downside a smaller trunk hehe.
Just search for some photos of hbs and coupes here on h-t and figure out which one you want.

i have a EX coupe and i love it. it is staying as stock as possible and will be (and is) a daily driver. i plan on getting a hatch for a project car soon. the best of both worlds
