Re: 92-95 civic power door conversion the right way. tons of pics the end all for th
has anyone tried to successfully convert jdm power doors to be used on a usdm car, still trying to figure out if i need to swap harnesses from door to door, whcih makes sense, then key cylinders and switches and such.
Just haven't found any of these conversions around, any ideas?

Mine is a lefty and I've been working with jdm power doors.
I've been doing things at a slow pace as I've been busy but I believe what I've done is right, just curious if anyone has done this so I can compare notes, have yet to plug and try what I've done due to lack of time but once I do I can help others

tlarimer did something similar. Well, he used RHD JDM door wiring and swapped them for use on LHD doors. If you want to use the "no-switch" power door lock feature of JDM doors then you need to replace the USDM door lock actuators with a totally different one. You should contact him directly for more info or wait for his DIY.

Thanks Deschlong,
I will be working on the diy soon for full jdm/edm power doors shortly. Got called out, effective immediatley for flood relief, for up to two weeks, so my chances of responding to any threads or pm's will be slim.
But to update, my LHD jdm/edm power door conversion is fully functional using oem 5th gen civic parts. DIY will follow upon my return from military duty

I'm looking for pristine ex door panels that don't have tweeters in black now.

Re: 92-95 civic power door conversion the right way. tons of pics the end all for th
As of now i have gutted the jdm doors and basically mirrored the parts and used them in my cdm cx, so now i have power windows and mirrors, however still gotta find a folding mirror switch and wire those up to get the full affect.
Locks are a different story right now, i was just gonna grab some door latches and lock assys from a cdm coupe or hatch but they are hard to come by around here.
If you have any questions on how i did my windows, feel free to ask

The JDM door lock actuator for the driver side is different, it has a 3 pin connector vs the USDM/CDM 4 pin connector. I found that you can get the LHD 3 pin connector actuator from Honda of America. I don't have the P/N in front of me, but look for the 1994 Civic Ex coupe, new it was $95 shipped from Honda.

Re: 92-95 civic power door conversion the right way. tons of pics the end all for th
Im not sure how usdm/cdm door locks work, but it looks like with the jdm ones it has a door popper on the door lock assembly, so when you lock the lock like you would manually, the other door also locks.
With that being, if i was to get the cdm door latches and locks how do they differ, right now i have the jdm wire harness's in the doors working the power windows and jdm power fold mirrors, to do this i had to swap window motors from jdm to the cdm. All this does is allow me to use the master switch in the left door rather than right door, so now the double switch is on the left and single on the right. And so now i have the door lock coupler free and wondering if i get the cdm left side lock assembly will it plug into the jdm one(I just don't know if they lock the same way)

If you want to use the USDM door lock actuators, you need to get the USDM door wiring harness. The USDM door wiring harness has a 4 pin connector for the actuator, the JDM has a 3 pin connector for the actuator. I used a USDM actuator temperarily and repinned the connector, put only 2 wires were used.
I will be getting my DIY together next week so you can see exactly what I am talking about, as well as the differences between USDM 4 pin and EDM/JDM LHD 3 pin actuators

It's a start, but I am still out on state military orders, so it will be a few days before I get diagrams and better pictures up.

i'd like to vouch for this thread working quite well. i installed mine like a year ago, still going strong. i couldn't remember where i saw it to give it a bump. so here :D
i opted for the cleaner install so i took the panel inserts from the ex and kept my dx panel, and relocated the lock switch somewhere harder to reach from a pried open window.

hey guys, i did this conversion in my 95 hatch and it works great except for one problem. I keep blowing the same fuse and it is causing my passanger window to stop working. once i replace the fuse it works again but blows moments later.

Fuse # 8 on a diagram (the last fuse on the right that we had to add for this conversion)
if anyone knows please help me out this is getting really annoying lol
thanks alot
