has anyone ever put 6x9's in there 92-95 civic coupe in the rear if so how.
also do they sell speaker pods to fit in 6x9's in a civic coupe in the rear and do the stock 92-95 civic coupes come with speaker rear pods?

i dont think they sell pods, and if you want them in there, try cutting the hole bigger to fit them. if you need something to mount them to, i would go with a carpeted 1/4" plywood so that you can mount the speakers to it and put that over the rear deck. just so it right and make the plywood the same shape as the deck. unless you can get em to mount straight into the deck itself without much of a hastle. either way its going to be a custom job.

X2, IMO its way easier to just buy 6 1/2 round speakers, I just bought a couple of sets of 6 1/2 round pioneers for $30 a pair at futureshop.

Re: (adam00)
just get some 6 1/2 components. they will sound better, and will have alot less distortion then a 6x9. a good set of component speakers hooked up to a good (name brand) amp, and you will never look back. i reccomend alpine type R speakers. reasonable price, and LOUD, with little distortion.
i actually had to remove my front speaker grills because the speaker cone was hitting it. and thats at a modest volume. i have yet to crank it up. also running a 90x4 alpine amp with 12 gauge wires throughout my car.

putting components in the rear is a waste of money...they do not make 6x9 brackets for your car...either custom mount them, or use boxes...like everyone else says, just throw 6.5s in there
i do this for a living.

it depends on what your going for. components are usually alot better speaker then a coaxial. with alot better sound.
if your just looking for sometihng to listen to, and wanna go cheap, go right ahead. if you want to spend the money on a good system that you can enjoy your music the way that its suppose to sound, with nice lows, and clear highs, then you cant beat a full component system.
i myself have 6x9's in the rear and they are coaxial, they sound alright. also type R's. my brothers old car had components in the rear, and it sounded alot clearer then mine. both of us have type R's all the wy around.
ive had people ask me where my sub was, and i only have the 4 speakers in my car right now. what sold me on the R's is the shop i got them from, one of the installers had the same setup in his car and he took home first place for best SQ. i rather have sq then noise and distortion that you get with cheap speakers.

Some hardcore SQ people don't even bother with the rears as they screw up the imaging and placement of the sounds. They just run full components in the front and a sub and that's it. But, they spend a lot of money on deadening, and quality stuff, and tons of time tuning with equalizers...

Re: (stevanrk)
unless you really want the people sitting in the backseat to get good sound, then putting a type r component set in the rear is a good idea. otherwise, just getting the regular type r 6.5s will be good enough. yes, there is a filter built in to the componenets that does not come with the coaxials, but unless you are ear level with the tweeters you will not notice the difference...components up front, yes, do it.
