Default is 27lbs per wheel and tire heavy?

Just got some 15x6.5" wheels with 195/50 tires and I weighed them on my home scale and they were 27lbs together. Just wondering if that was heavy or not for this size.

One thing is for sure, they're definitely lighter than my 18"s on my other car which are 45lbs for the combo!

good question!! I have 15x7 wheels with 195/50/15 rubber. My wheels weigh about 15lbs each , which I guess is about average. How much can a tire weigh

I think 27lbs for a 15" rim with tire is heavy. Mine way about 17lbs with 195/50/15 tires on. So I say yea there heavy.

But then again i could be wrong, but to me there heavy, But to everyone, their own.

Yeah, sure it does.

Tires of that size weigh about 17lbs. 27lbs is pretty damn good. Mine 16" RH CP-035 weigh 28 pounds with tires.

how heavy were your wheels? And what size were they? That sounds a little too light to me. I dun't even know if my stock 13s with tires weigh that little and my stock thirteens weren't too bad.

i dont know how much the tires should weigh but a volk in that size would be about 10 pounds and those are really light wheels.

it depends on how much air is in the tires, if you have 10 pounds of air in one and 20 in the other one of the tires is gonna be 10 pounds heavier. so if you have 4 wheels and 4 tires that add up to 108 pounds, then you add 40 pounds of air per tire you have a set of wheels and tires that weigh 268 pounds!!! so yea i think your 15's are kinda heavy

that is light...how light do you people think tires are? Most tires in that size are probably 16lbs and up.

I was thinking that tires should be around 15 lbs each (that a good estimate?). So that that would mean the wheel is around 12 lbs each, but I'm not certain. I guess I'll have to weigh the stock 13"s to compare. . .

wow 1 person with a good idea.

27 lbs isnt heavy. ITR forum has a thread about tire weight and most of the ones i saw are lke 19+ since your tire is skinnier(195) it may weigh like 17lbs, and then 27-17= 10 so thats like a 10 lb 15''x6.5'' rim. Which is LIGHT!!!

Sooooo, im probably wrong about your tire weight though

18' volk le37's with 215/35/18 nitto tires weighed in around 36-38lbs I believe so I would so 24lbs with tires is not possible....just my thought though considering

205/40/17 tires weighs in between 18.5 and 20.5 lbs, so that would leave 5.5-3.5lbs for your volk rim

everybody's got to be a hater...... well, the tires had very little tread on them, and i'm pretty sure thats what they weighed. it was like a year ago, but i'm pretty sure thats what they weighed. the 32 lbs is right for my old flatlines, though. i was just sharin, take it easy, people .

Yokohama AVS ES100 ........... 195/55-15 19.0 lbs
Yokohama A032R .................. 205/50-15 ? lbs
Well, I got the Falken ZE512s in 195/50 r-15 and got the FLIK Blast wheels for $630 shipped, mounted and balanced from http://www.edgeracing.com. So based on the average weight of these tires, I guess 17lbs for the tire would be a good conservative estimate making the wheel only 10lbs!

thats very lightweight.

some of the few wheels/tires I had:
-Spoon 15" with Bridgeston potenza GridII (195/50R15) 27.8lbs each
-stock Si 14" steellies with 185/60R14 = 34lbs each.
-USDM ITR 15" 195/50R15 (Toyo FZ4 - lightest tire you can get but no grip and handles like ****) = 31lbs
-Rota Slipstream 15" (195/50R15 Toyo FZ4) = 27.5lbs
-Mugen CF48 14" with 185/65R14 = 31lbs
