Not really. It has to do less work to deliver the same amount of fuel that your current stock pump has to do. Whereas your stock pump would be working at its 100% capacity to deliver fuel at WOT, the walboro would be doing almost half the work to deliver the same amount. Upgrading the pump is useless tho unless you change out your injectors to larger ones, otherwise aside from doing less work, it will yeild no advances in performance.

so your saying I can install the pump and not have any worries? I do have bigger injectors but im gonna install that along with the turbo in 2weeks. I figure doing the pump first cause it takes like half an hour to do?

x2 i dont know what that guy is thinking above saying no. You need to tune a car in order for it to draw in more fuel. Otherwise it runs just like stock, but with better capability of bringing in more when its needed.

You will be fine

I understand where your coming from, but my only concern is will my car run fine for two weeks till i get my greddy turbo on. Now when I do slap on my kit im basically gonna leave it completely the way it is with the pretune piggy back that came with it. Greddy says for any future upgrade on the turbo than yes im gonna have it tuned again. But if it was left alone with the kit its self self than no.

it will be fine. Do you have the stock fuel pressure regulator or aftermarket?

yeah it won't matter if it stock or not...

Now that you have a higher volume pump I would suggest an aftermarket FPR like aeromotive. Then you can fine tune your pressure for your setup. It might not be that necessary for your bolt on kit but down the road it might be worth while

Like i mentioned before, it pumps the same amount of fuel using half the energy that the stock one does.

i do agree what 97EJ6mike said...because even stock fuel pump fuel flows enough fuel at 35 psi for 400 crank hp...unless upgraded to larger injectors even so at increased pressure till 75 psi such rising rate will still allow flow enough for bout 2++ hp. Therefore, stock fuel pump should be alright if still working fine. No point changing it.
