I need 250hp on my del sol. i have d16 engine with 100k now. which engine would you get and what would you do to the engine to get 250hp?
for D series lovers: could you boost D engine to get 250hp out of a D series?

to get 250hp out of a d series, just put a 200 shot of NOS on it.

Search...If your looking for boost - I would probally go with a B18C1...All motor...Probally a fully built LS/Vtec or Type R motor for 250hp....

Re: 250hp is needed (purek9hybrid)
why 250 and not 220 or 300???
Anyway I tend to agree with the 1.8L complimented by a nice turbo set up.

Re: 250hp is needed (bearboy80)
so i guess best way is get LS engine and turbo charging it? is it safe to run 12psi on stock LS engine? I dont want to take a risk turboing GSR or h22 engines. they are expensive engines to mess up unlike D series.

IMO Here is what I would do. B18C1, high compression pistons, full skunk2 head with stage 2's, port and polish the head, hone the block, forged rods, skunk2 intake manifold, aem v2 cai, mugen headers, skunk2 cat back, and to top it off a 75 shot of nos. With that you should be very close if not over 250 without the nos.

And i need to beat my rich friend who can't drive with s2000 which has 240hp.

Get your **** straight! Try to learn before you think you can boost your D series to 250 hp without any knowledge.

ok you are the type of person that I cant stand on here...... you want 250Hp to beat a s2000 that is A. likely lighter than your car B. Biggest question: Can you drive??? C. Just because you have a minimal 10 Hp more will not mean that you will beat an s2000. you could have a 500 Hp Supra single turbo upgrade and still lose to him.

Re: 250hp is needed (purek9hybrid)
i would have to go with a turbo b18b.... if your goal is to beat a stock s2k then this should be efficient enough. but that goal seems pretty shallow because almost every s2k owner i know either has a blower on order or has some headwork planned

I think Its funny when people try to bash people who know less than them. teach them, dont try to clown them, PUREK9HYBRED, you know there was a day that you didnt know **** and you were asking people similar questions. All's im saying is help people, dont discourage them, they could be kicking your *** on the streets one day, and you'd never know it!

I saw a guy run 20 pounds in a stock D16z6 with a t3/t4 turbo...but down something rediculous like almost 300 whp.
It wouldn't be too hard getting 250 whp from a boosted single cam...forged pistons, eagle rods, hardware, and a bigger turbo
a buddy of mine just put down 257 whp on 13psi bone stock B18B with a revhard kit

people recommend not to go more than 11psi on D series. what about B? is it safe to go 12, 13 psi on LS engines?

Re: 250hp is needed (bearboy80)
all depends on internals and the type/size turbo you run.
I know a guy who runs 14 daily on his little Greddy kit, which is about the same amount of boost that a bigger, t3/t4 turbo puts out at 7-8 psi.
If you want a reliable 250 whp...I'd say b18b turbo+hondata running 12-13 pounds, not running around in boost all day.
If you want your D to handle 250 all the time...it's time for forged pistons, upgraded rods, and a big turbo+ tuning
