i have 205 and they sometimes rub on hard turns

Re: 215/45-16 FALKEN AZENIS (blazinb16)
I run 215/45/16 azenis in the rear and 205/45/16 toyo fz4 up front. the fronts will rub, but the back should be fine, just ride around for a couple days and some of the rubber wear off. The 205 azenis are just as wide if not wider than the 215's, falkens are weird like that.

what was the point of this post?
205 are wide enough...215's might be a little too wide unless you have a good 2 finger gap all around

215/45/16 are a bit too wide if you wanna run them without modding the wheelwell, I had to roll the quarters and trim the rear bumper a little. I also did have to roll the front fenders other than that it worked great.

is there really a reason for running 215 s?..based on the weight and rotational mass ur just going to lose pulling power unless ur needing the extra width for monster boost

I would assume wider tires equals more grip and traction. If your motor is powerful enough, rotating wider, heavier tires shouldn't be a problem. Afterall, Corvettes and other sports cars have 275+ width tires.
As for the minor measures taken by fastwanabe to run 215/45R16's on his car, I think it's well worth it. I most likely will do that in the future.

I think because the azenis doesn't come in 205 for 16inch only 215

save money...
i'm planning on using 14" hx wheels on 195/60-14 azenis. perfect for auto-x.
my daily driving tires are 205/45-16 es100's wrapped around c8s. they will rub...
i'm going this route so i have 2 sets.. one for daily and one for auto-x. using the same set for both kills your tires... and 16" tires aren't very nice to your wallet!
but hey... its all for performance. azenis's are great! 215/45-16 azenis will rub. as for control, i suggest the 14" setup. overall, you'll have better response.

i run 225/45-15 hoosiers (widest dot tire available) on 15x8.5 wheels, and i am looking to go larger.... but, to answer the original question, you will be ok with the 215's providing you are not too low. if you are too low wheras they rub, you are too friggin low! so raise the car up to a usable height, and you won;t have problems.
