I got a 2000 Honda Civic Ex 4 door that wont start. It started and ran perfectly 4 days ago, and now i put the key in, turn it to the ON position and absolutely no lights light up on the dashboard as they would normally when the key is in the ON position. Turn to the START position, nothing...nada dead silence, dashboard lights on just dead. Stereo does not work as well as the door locks and windows.

Head lamps turn on bright as normal. Interior light is works, honk works, nothing that would indicate a battery problem or a starter problem, It doesn't even crank or click (as to indicate starting) it does nothing nothing lights up on the dashboard. I turn the steering wheel left right, switch from park to neutral, drive and back again. Tried to start and same symptoms no dashboard lights not even attempting to start. I disconnected the battery, even tried to jump start it, to no avail. The car just wont start.

Any ideas?

Ignition switch/key tumbler maybe?

try checking the starter cable and small solenoid wire. sometimes they have corrosion build up so check the connection. it just slides on and off.

You could need to replace the distributor cap and rotor. Sounds like what happened to my car about 2 months ago. If need be, check out this link for how to. Also, there is a how to video on youtube if you search for it. Hope it helps.
