Default 2000 DX & Si Grills

I want to get the Si/SiR Front grill for my 2000 DX hatchback. Before I order them, I want to know If I need the front molding from the Si or if I can use the molding from my DX.

Si front Grill: #2 in the diagram

DX front Grill: #3 in the diagram

Thanks.

You need the Si grill and molding. You can't keep your DX molding.

Its $43.00, but they only come in the colors that the Si/SiR came in (flamenco black pearl, milano red, and electron blue). My car is Silver.

You can use your DX on. There will just be a gap between the outside edge and the black honeycomb lookings stuff. I have an SI grill in my EX and I used my EX molding because the SI molding is still red.

i went to home depot, and picked up some gutter guard.
i then dremeled everything on the stock grill out, leaving the frame.
then i cut the grill to the shape of the frame, and screwed it on to the frame.
give me a min, i will find pics

I did the same thing to mine but I took it out. It won't even cost you $10.

Do you have any closer pics? I would really like to see how it looks because saving $200 sounds good to me.
