2000 civic si needs help trouble shooting fuel problem
i drive a 2000 civic si ...i cant seem to get the car started .... the car worked fine and then it just started to boggg while i was driving and died ...the car has spark .,...because i checked ...the fuses underdash and in the engine bay are all good ... i changed my main fuel pump relay with a new one and it still does the same thing ,... I ran straight power from the battery to the fuel pump and i was able to start up my car .... but when i disconnected the power it just bogged out and died ??? is it possible that my fuel pump is bad???
let me know your suggestions .... i am very tired and dont know how much more i can take trouble shooting ,.... help honda-tech help!!!!

Re: 2000 civic si needs help trouble shooting fuel problem (200kCivicSI)
your fuel pump works. it's just not getting power unless you connect the battery to it. just like your car isn't broken if it wont start with no battery.
anyway. check the main relay located under the driver's side dash. get a diagram, it may be hidden. I'm not sure if there's a seperate fuel pump relay in that car.

it's not your grounds. when you supply the pump with POWER, it works. So the grounds are obviously fine. Look more closely at your fuses.

Theres a open or high resistance point in the wire between the pump and where it gets is power. You're going to have to just start checking every thing. Every fuse, every relay that has anything to do with the pump. A wireing diagram would probably help you locate things and let you know what colour wires to test.

here's how you narrow it down:
Where do you connect the fuel pump with power direcly that it works? Any wire or component AFTER the point of your jumper connection is good because it's making it to the fuel pump.

Try that. Or start testing with a ohm meter.
