2000 Civic Si Catalytic Converter Help!!
Okay I own a 2000 Honda Civic Si. I recently purchased an OBX Racing Sports Hi-Flo Cat. Now the question is my car is getting a check engine light for p0420 low catalytic converter effieciency Duh! I want to know if there is a way to bypass this since the car isnt getting a good enough mixture? I prefer not to put back on my stock cat unless i have to since i want to keep it in its good condition for smog and gett my extra jdm 3-5 hp from the holo cat. Please Someone Help me out
P.S. Im sure lots of people run test pipes on there cars and have no mixture in it so how does this work???

Bump. I have the same ride and I currently have a hollowed out pipe, no catalytic converter. I have emmessions due end of next month (damn nova regulations) and am trying to put in something to pass, most likely a stock one. Any suggestions?

Bumping an 8 year old thread? That's three 8 year old threads bumped in as many days. Why do people think this is OK? The FAQ and Rules stickies aren't optional reading around here.

So instead of posting a new (redundant) topic, someone posts in a thread that was started years ago that never had resolution.
It's annoying to see the old stuff pop up, but I get it too. At least the OP was doing some searching, ya know?

I agree, the irony is that when you try to cheap out you usually end up spending more.
Example Buy a $80 "cat" test pipe and it doesn't work, then you end up having to go buy the $200 actual cat. Congrats, you effectively just paid $280 for a $200 part. Even worse if you have to pay someone for two installs.
Do it right or do it twice.

Because there are a ton of threads that have questions asked, solutions posed, but no follow-up to determine what the final result/solution was.
