2000 Civic Motor Issues(Wire Harness?)
OK whatup Honda-Tech Community.. I need a little Help with my car
To start I have a 2000 Civic Si. I bought the car with a 95' Gsr already swapped by the previous owner. I am able to drive the car
Issues:
1. Motor doesnt seem to want to perform to its full potential, Doesnt really want to push past 3500-4000rpm's. It does rev high when I shift down, but doesnt really pull when accelerating/ shifting up
2. Vtec does not engage
3.CEL- Does throw codes but Its reads different codes because I have changed Ecu's attempting to diagnose the problem (ECU's i changed - from p72 to p2t for specification)
Cels include 13 atmospheric pressure & 41 primary oxygen sensor heater and goood old O2 sensor
Looking under my hood, the motor seems to have been wired up with the original wire harness(OBD2). I assume this because I see some clips(blue & grey) that have no place to be connected since its a obd1 motor.. (The car starts and drives)
Also following the wires , My injectors have been wired up manually. This must obvslly mean the harness is "Cut"... Im assuming whoever wired this did a custom job...
Ok I need any help as to fix this problem. I was thinking of
1. redoing the whole engine harness
2. Buying a new swap with all new components(dizzy, harness, ECU etc.)
Any help/info would be great. I sure this is a known problem as many under-go obd1 swaps into obd2 cars
Thanks

older motor in newer car...but even if the harness was a bad hack and solder job it shouldnt bog like that...i dont even think the car would start if the harness was so f'ed up. i hate electrical probs...

you dont have a crank sensor by the bottom timing gear you have a obd1 motor you need the obd2 timing gear and sensor probbaly an oil pump. your best bet is to get a obd2-obd1 conversion harness and get a chipped p28 ecu to run a gsr
