2000 civic ex coupe with gsr motor, no power to anything when i turn the key
Well i went an picked up this beauty on monday
its a 2000 civic ex coupe
with a B18C1 GSR motor in it
the only problem is, it wont start, the car gets no power completely
when u turn the ignition key. i have so far found that the car used to have an alarm which im guessing has a kill ignition built in so i removed that and its harness but i still am in the process of converting it back to stock wiring.
Anyways this car was completely free, it was my fiances cousin, he was in the driveway with it he said and it just sputtered and died and then all of the sudden he couldnt start it no more cause there was no power. instead of expletive with it he went an bought a tahoe and said if anyone wants to fix it they can have it. So here i am, i hope to god i can fix it but im no wiring expert by any means
Yes we brought it on a 12 by 7 dump trailer ROFL with 15000lbs of aircraft cargo straps, the wheelbase is 11 feet, so the axles and stuff were on and thats all that really counted.
The weirdest thing though, the car was running my cousin said and it just died in his driveway and all the of sudden the car is now like this. No power to anything but the hazard lights, no horn, no blinkers, no gauges, no domelight. Is this signs of the ecu going bad? how can i tell? i had a 92 civic si that blew an ecu once and i think i remember having these symptoms. The swap was done professionally in a shop so the harness is non-cut and directly plugged in via an obd2-2 to obd2-1 jumper harness. Although the motor is a 99

But yes, definitely have the battery, starting and charging system checked, if you can get in running, or if you want to just pull it all out and take it to your local parts store and have them test your ish. Check grounds, fuses, relays, and look all over your harness for rusting or issues with continuity. Just my little bit of advice.

K series run serpentine belts.......
but deff start by checking the battery teminals then the battery sounds like it could be the alternator went and now the battery is just dead

well i the good news is a fixed it, bad 80 amp battery fuse. The bad news is the transmission is fucked up the differential is blown i think, the tranny moves really smooth but it makes this horrible knocking sound when i drive sounds like a card in the bicycle spokes. What should i do? Need advice on other trannys that would be good to be paired with this motor
