Ok, friend of mine has a 200 civic ex with a muffler and intake so far and it is auto. Obviosly it is a not too fast(17's) right now but what would a turbo kit do with the auto? Is it worth a try or should we not even bother? What about a SC? Does JR make a SC for it? I'm new to the Honda's so no flames please..just help. I think it might be better to sell and get a 5spd...but it isn't an option right now. Thanks!

in terms of possibility...yes, you can turbo it, turbo kits aren't at all dependant of the tranny and the same with s/c. Greddy maks a turbo and jr makes a s/c, and there's always custom setups. as far as the strength of the transmission....i've seen a stock auto hold like 100 hp up from stock, but it was a miata, not a civic. your freinds probably off swapping engines or transmissions and then supercharging.

The Transmission can hold up fine to a greddy turbo kit or JR supercharger...One of my friends drove a 99 Civic EX with a JR supercharger, and it runs fine. No problems with the tranny whatsoever. He ran it on that set up for almost 30,000 miles before his car got stolen..the only bad thing about the transmission however was that it ran pretty weak..i drive a 2000 Civic EX 5spd..and when we race from a roll at 45mph...i pull on him all they way through 2nd gear but after that..he pulls on me hard...its the downside to an automatic.......but no issues with the tranny itself...

Ya..I think the 5spd swap at least but I don't know what the cost is. I could do the work, I changed my 93GT over from Auto...best mod I ever did! I assume he would gain alot form that alone. My other friend and I are pushing him to do a B18 and 5spd swap but he doesn't have the cash right now. What kind of increase from the SC anyway? 1 second,more..less. Thanks...
