Default 2 Questions regarding a JDM Civic & USDM Civic - I have both and I need some help.

I currently have a JDM 99 Civic Type R - and I need a few OEM parts - where would I go to buy them - Honda dealer? Should I buy them for a 99 Civic Si? or do I go to Acura and buy them for 99 ITR?

I might need new spark plugs and wires - and I would like to keep my car Honda original - so where do I buy the parts from?

I have yet to take the plugs and wires out...

Also - are the wiring for the USDM and JDM civic the same. I'm looking at installing a Pioneer DVD/ player in my JDM Civic Type R and I want to know if I buy a radio harness will the wires all match up?

Any help would be great...

Thanks

im not familiar with what engine the ctr comes with. get the wires for the closest engine to that. if it is a b18? get the ITR wires and if its a b16? get the civic si wires. they should not be much different from eachother anyway since its just the head.

as for the wiring everything is just backwards but as far as i know the plugs are the same.

Actually the B16B engine found in the CTR is more closely related to the ITR B18C/B18C5 engine as all it is is the 1.8L B18C/5 block and cylinder head with a destroked crank, higher domed pistons, and a better intake cam.

If you bought a timing belt for a 99-00 Civic Si you'd be pissed when you found out it was way too short since the B16B CTR engine is 7mm taller than the B16A2 found in the 99-00 Si.

this man beat me to it. I think you would be ok with the plug wires from the Si but as for anything on the bottom end get the Teg parts

No I dont i can just look up the colors at work. Get the wiring harness which should be metra part number MET 70-1720 (if the factory plug is white) or MET 70-1721 (if the factory plug is blue) I forget off the top of my head. That should make everything pretty easy to do. Then all you have to do is ground the e-brake wire and connect the VSS wire and you should be all set to go. After you run the GPS ant. that is. Everything is pretty much straight forward if you have all the right parts. A.K.A. (dash kit, wiring harness)
