1999 Honda civic ex worth it?
Hello i am going to look at a 99 civic ex tomarrow.. it has 125k miles he says he has all the service records and only the 2nd owner... its been wrecked on the passenger side door.. not to bad.. but i got him to drop the price to $4,300.. is that a good price for this in that kind of condition.. im going tomarrow to "really" look at it. i know honda's can last well over 200k miles and not to familar with the auto tranny in the 99 honda.. so any info would be Great .
Thanks..
edit: also he just put 4 new tires on it

It's about an okay price, but is still a bit high. You'd be third owner, but would have all service records...
... Eh, actually sounds okay, just borderline.

well the lowest value on Kbb is $4,700 and well if the car doesn't run well.. I'm not paying 4,000 for it.. id rather go up to 6k or so and get something i know wont have any problems with.. but i was just wondering, thanks for the fast respond.. do you know of any issue's to look for with the 99 civic ex coupe?
Thanks

I have a 2000 Civic Ex coupe. I love it. Never had any issues with it at all and you wont either if you do all basic maintenance first. If the motor runs good and the tranny shifts good then I wouldnt worry about the mileage. If the damage isnt to bad and is easily and cheaply repairable then you should try to get it for $4k.

yea see the thing with the damage on the door is i can fix it myself( or most of it) so i don't mind the damage at all.. i mean yea it sucks but really all it does is help me get the car cheaper.. but again thanks for the fast reply's and info...

You need to make SURE the the timing belt has been changed... if not that the first thing you should have done to it when you get it. Other then that just take care of ALL basic maintenace.

Some people get a timing belt for about $50 and do it themself but if your not so mechanically inclined like myself then dont even try it. If you take it somewhere to have it done they replace the waterpump at the same time bc they have to take it off to get to the timing belt. Parts and labor all toegther it costed me $200. Usually anywhere from $200-$300.
