1999 Honda Civic Ex Coupe (Exhaust & CAI)
Hi Everyone,
So like the title states I own a 1999 Honda Civic (Ex) Coupe.
I am in California, I am pretty car illiterate.
For CAI is there any really benefit to getting one or am I better off buying a K&N filter and just putting that on my stock filter? Or is a CAI better?
For Exhausts, can anyone recommend a nice exhaust, that is not crazy expensive.
I am not going to be racing or anything crazy, I just want to make my daily commuter more efficient and slightly customized.
Any help would be really helpful.
Thank you.

No, no, and no.

You will gain literally nothing from any of that. What's more, because you live in CA, you have to get BAR/CARB certified parts, which are stupidly expensive, just for a little sticker. You will draw increased attention from both police, as well as thieves. Police will ignore the CARB certification and give you a fix-it ticket, wasting your time and money, and thieves will follow you home and steal your ****, and all because you wanted to make your car "slightly customized".
Save your money, save your time, save your headache, and save your heartache. Just leave the car alone.

Ever since I put a exhaust on my car, I get paranoid as ****. I think everyone wants to steal my car, I find myself not leaving the living room if its parked outside. Periodic checks in the garage. And any Honda bumblebee sound makes my heart pound, thinking its thieves driving my car away, or somebody plotting on it next. I wont leave the car outside for more than 2 hrs. At this point I have accumulated alot of unnecessary stress, its like there's always someone out to get you.
Edit: The tickets are real too, I got a 300 something dollar ticket for never going past 2000 rpms. He was 2 lanes over in the other median!
