1999 Civic HX Transmission Problems
Well my 1999 Honda Civic HX with 86.000 miles and it needs it's 6th transmission!
The original transmission had to be replaced at 30.000 miles then another at 45.000, 60.000 and 72.000.
Now at 86.000 miles it needs number 6. The original offer from American Honda Through my Honda dealer was they would not replace it again but would pay half the cost :/ $1300 and I pay the other half
So again I am going to war with American Honda. They will not admit to having any problems with the CVT transmission which is a crock of **** as this pos fails every 12-15 thousand miles #$%*&%^%&*^@#$%@#&%
I am told a case worker will contact me by next week to discuss this and if they dont replace it again I have a strong feeling that both the President and Vice President of American Honda will be recieving letters from me in the near future!

Re: 1999 Civic HX Transmission Problems (Civic4less)
Are you driving the **** out of it? Yea, that trans isn't the strongest but it shouldn't fail that much.
If it did there would be a huge recall on them.

Have you considered a manual transmission swap? All that money going in, you can easily find the pedal assembly, manual ECU, transmission, linkage, clutch/flywheel for a lot less than $1,300. Then, it'll last a VERY long time.

He is very right. Look around the classifieds. I had found one for 500$ FULL SWAP... but my computer broke and I couldn't get into contact with the guy anymore. Now I dont even know his IM now that my computer works.
