1999 b16 o2 sensor QUESTION
i'm swapping a 1999 b16a2 in my 1999 hatch. I'm aware that there are two 02 sensors; one goes to the header & cat.
I already have a aftermarket header and it has a 02 sensor plug but i'll need another placement for the other 02 sensor.
My questions are.. what are my options?
1. Get a 1999 Si cat
2. Aftermarket cat?
Is there any other way to do this? because i don't want the engine to run rich & check engine light on.
Any help will be appreciated. Thanks!! OH AND HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

Hey what's up... This is a common problem with these swaps...
Okay first you MUST run the first o2 sensor that bolts into the header. You car will run fine with the first o2 sensor there and missing the second, but you'll have the check engine light on (it will be throwing a "problem 2nd o2 sensor" cel). If you have an aftermaket full exhaust system (like RSR, greddy, etc.) you don't need the cat... The exhaust and header bolt up perfectly (only on ek's)..... Now you need to get rid of the check engine light (if you want to). To do this, you can by an o2 simulator (O2SIM) made by ziptech. It's like $50.00 and it will trick the ecu to think that your getting a valid secondary o2 signal, and you check engine light will be gone... I hope this helps. Oh you if you want to wire in the secondary o2 sensor... It can be done... You'll need to run four new secondary o2 sensor wires to the ecu.

I forgot to mention that I'm also using the b16a2 ECU. Would I still need to wire 4 wires to the ECU?
About the Ziptech 02 simulater (02SIM), will that hurt the engine in any way?

Re: (Kamin)
OK cool, that is good to know.
also, would i still need to add 4 wires to the ECU for the secondary 02 if i use my stock wiring harness & a 1999 si ECU? Because I do have two stock 02 sensors since my car is a 99'.
