Does any one know the difference between 1999/2000 b16 heads and the earlier models. Is there a difference. Trying to figure it out. I got a throttle body, intake manifold and head from a friend and he told me it was from a 1999 si. I don't know if he really knows. I wanted to put it with my b16a block from a earlier model JDM del sol that I got from brother inlaw and want to install it into my 1998 honda civic ex.

Any information on what ecu I should use. And any information on the swap that would make this go easy would be nice.

jdm 1st gen was a slightly better cast as it was cleaner and a bit stronger (90-91). It came with a pr3 intake manifold and 58mm throttle body, and a weaker intake cam

the 2nd gen head was a little bit cheaper cast but still very good. The intake manifold was updated, called a P30, and the throttle body was enlarged to 60mm like other b series. It had a better intake cam

Otherwise, they are the same

I also got Engine harness from my brother inlaws del sol from Japan. He basically bought a front clip in 2003 and had these parts sitting.
The head I have did not have a vtec silenoid so I will be using the one from the del sol clip.

I guess my question is, what ECU do I use. and if I will have any electrical issues when installing?
