1997 Civic Dx Speedometer quit working.
The motor is a d16y7 4 speed automatic.
The Speedo use to work just fine then occasionally it would quit. A few minutes later it would start back working just fine. It did this for a few days and all of a sudden now it doesn't work at all.
I don't have a diagram for the under dash fuse box so if I need to do something down there, let me know what.
Thanks in advance.

Check your VSS(vehicle speed sensor). Try one you know is working if possible. Also check the connectors/wires. One wire on my female connector(harness end) eroded and all I had to do was cut it, pull the pin out, crimp it again and insert it again and it worked fine. You'rs may be loose.
Or something may be wrong with your cluster but i'd troubleshoot the other possibilites first...obviously after changing your CEL bulb first..

Alright. Took the cluster out and found that the entire socket was missing for the CEL light. Replaced it and found codes 17, 65, and 91.
So I checked all of the fuses which all checked out fine.
Then I looked at the VSS and found that the points were all corroded and broken off. So I bought me a new VSS and I'm going to the junkyard to get a plug. Should have everything fixed by the 18th.
Stay tuned.
