1996 Civic coin pocket
I broke one of the little stubs on the side (that make up the hinge) on her coin pocket (drivers side under HVAC vent)
I noticed it and mindlessly opened it , and it pulled hard, and was crooked so I tried to straighten it and it pulled out , and I put it back in, and this time it was really crooked. I tried to remove it and it broke the stub, so it's just sort of hanging there.
Well, super glue and abs plastic don't get along, and the gf is all p.o.ed at me . Anyone want to unload theirs or offer advice on how to fix it and get her off my case for 'breaking her car and making it a pos'?
help is appreciated,
Matt

check with a honda dealer, if you only need the little plastic stub it should be more than a few bucks...
lol we all would spend a few bucks to get our girlfriend's off our cases, right? lol

Re: 1996 Civic coin pocket (civics4lyfe)
the little 'stub' is a molded part of the little storage compartment itself, and I did check online, the price was about $30 new , I found a couple on ebay (and the pic btw) for about $10+shipping making almost $20 all said and done.
I'll probably call the dealer in the morning.

What color is that? I can't tell if it's light gray or dark gray.
Her driver's door jamb will say the color. It should say either TYPE F or TYPE K. Type F is light gray (Excel Charcoal) and TYPE K is dark gray (Classy Gray).
I had a light gray one until last week or so when I tossed it out with the rest of the broken panel. At least I think I tossed it with it. If I find it I'll let you know (in the event yours is TYPE F / light gray / Excel Charcoal).
POCKET, COIN - (*NH178L* (EXCEL CHARCOAL))
77750-S04-G00ZA
LIST: $34.07
POCKET, COIN - (*NH264L* (CLASSY GRAY))
77750-S04-G00ZB
LIST: $18.03

Re: (ChevelleSSLS6)
Honda's plastics are usually very good, especially on the 90s models. The only downfall is that most of the plastic pieces of the car are meant for durability and are special plastics that do not take kindly to epoxy and glue. The headlamps are actaully resistant to almost every chemical in the universe, hehe. The only guaranteed way to fix it is with plastic welding, but if this is not at your disposal, its cheaper to get this piece at the dealer like everyone else is reccomending.

Re: (JasonGhostz)
PMs checked and replied. Anyway, I noticed your sig, I'm curious what your Honda looks like; most guys around here if they mod them it's gaudy and ugly... there's a silver civic LX (96-xx, "ek" I think) that has a huge obnoxious body kit but factory wheel covers (yup the plastic ones) and stock teenie weenie tailpipe sticking out the back of it... it's been that way for a couple years now
...there's also a newer one that's got a body kit (much more subtle and better looking) and best of all, it's boosted. I might have pics of both but that'd require a new thread.
