93 Del Sol SI

Well, I just recently replaced the parts in the A/C system, Compressor, Drier, Condenser and had it charged. Well the problem is that when I press the A/C button on the climate control, nothing happens. There are a few wires under the hood by the relay that if I short one, only the condenser fan kicks in, and the other engages the compressor. I know I could rig up a switch and use those wires, but I would rather not unless there is really no other practical way to fix it. I guess my question would be, has anyone had this problem before and if so, any idea on how I should fix it? Thanks in advance.
