1992 DX Hatch, What Was Your First Mod? Pics Up Now!
So, after having an abused beat up EF 4 speed for a few months, I decided to upgrade a bit and found a mint 1992 white dx hatch that is at 54,5xx miles. The interior is amazing and has remains of that "new car" smell. The man I got it from was very particular about keeping it garaged the whole time he owned it. From what I understand it came to have a chip or two in it from his commute driving and a few spots on the car were re-sprayed in the 17 years he owned it. It is an automatic, and has power steering, and AC. Over the summer I plan on doing a few things to it (rims, tires, suspension, 5 speed swap, stereo)to make it just a nice daily driver. I am curious to see everyone on here that has an EG and what your first/favorite mod was. I'd also love to see pictures of rims/tires on the car and tire size. Thanks!

Ah, nice pick up. My first car was an auto too (93 civic coupe dx), went through the whole 5 speed swap, it was fun and a great learning experience. By far that was the best mod ive done, recommended if you're stuck with an automatic.
Sadly she got totaled Let me know if you need any swap parts, i'd be happy to help.

i converted to 5spd (97 EX), built a new D with vitara's and boosted it. First mod was Ebay intake, then E3 plugs and some new NGK performance wires (not really a mod).

my first mod was taking out the factory tape player and installing a kenwood Cd player/MP3 player along with the SI rims (looks so much cleaner without the stock 13" steelies). Good luck with your 1st mod on the new sexy EG6 bro.

CivSteez,
I've had the same white DX hatch for 3 years now. Mine, however has a manual tranny with A/C. Unfortunately, mine wasn't mint like yours...it now has almost 280K on the original motor and some substantial dents in the passenger side fender and the hood. The interior was really in nice shape, although dirty when I acquired it. It's really clean now though. I finally replaced the fender yesterday...waiting to find a good hood.
My first mod was a speedo/tach cluster swap (mine didn't have a tach). While I had the speedo cluster out, I converted the lighting to amber and painted the needles with fluorescent paint. Then I did the climate control. Added a JDM amber clock. Then I added the optional center console and the arm rest console.
In the next few months, I will be putting in a new carpet and converting the entire blue interior to black (since the opt console and the arm rest is black). I have all the pieces that I pulled from a donor car the other day except for the seats. I also have a leather wrapped EG steering wheel w/SRS purchased from this board. When I do the carpet, I'll probably put in some sound deadener to make the ride a little more quiet. Not sure yet what I'll do about seats.
Mechanically, I've done nothing yet, but I have plans. I've got the full Integra disc brake set up ready to swap in, as well as a Tokiko shock/GC coilover setup to go in at the same time. Of course, when the brakes are done, I'll need new wheels 'cause the 13" steelies I have aren't going to fit over the front brakes anymore. Waiting on my 15" Regamaster wheels to arrive from Japan. Then in a year I'll swap the motor for a B18 series motor...not sure which one yet.
In the end, I don't want the car to look too far off from stock. The wheels and coilovers will be the biggest change in appearance, but I don't plan on dropping the car too much.
fm

Switched radios, cut the intake tube so my new filter fit better, switched the Integra console it had for a Civic console with arm rest. First REAL mod was swapping in Koni Yellows, Ground Controls and an Integra Type R rear sway bar with ASR brace. Best $1300 or whatever I've spent.

my first mod was moving my license plate to the left haha. I did do the autometer 5" tach though since the dx lacks those, then rebuilt with vitaras, turbo, skunk2 shifter, painted it, and got some rotas lol
