Default 11,000 rpm redline

So I was playing Gran Turismo 2 today and I won a Spoon Civic Type R (ek). I went to race it and noticed it had a 11,000 rpm redline. Notice I said redline, not rev limiter. 11k holy crap thats amazing... It makes 197 hp at 10k rpm. Just a random post lol

True that, any B-series VTEC unit with an upgraded valvetrain and upgraded oil pump with a good tune can rev to 10,000rpm+

Problem is even honda's type R trannys don't deliver power after about 9,000rpm, thats why that spoon civic is fastest at 9,200rpm cause power is able to follow through...

ive seen that video before its great. i think a few of those kits got snuck into the usa. you can definetely see why its a waste though by watching the video.

why is it a waste? the guy was able to keep in the powerband far longer than the stock ctr. just because it had a computer malfunction means nothing.

11,000 rpm is doable, but expect about a 6 month life from your engine. Stupid kid that was bought an engine from me went thru 3 of them before he ditched the ECU for a stocker.
The nice part is he was telling his parents everyone was selling him bad engines, what a douchebag.

its a waste because the few kits that made it across seas sold for about 4 grand a peice.... sure it helped performance... but only by a small margin.
