1.6el heated seats in 92 civic
Before it starts getting cold out I would like to hook up my heated seat on the driver side. I'm planning on buying a Proper oem switch eventually but at the moment I'm thinking of wiring in a normal heavy duty 2 position switch that u can buy at canadian tire.
The seats have the relay on the bottom so can I just run 12 volt power (thinking of splicing the cig lighter power with a fuse) and connect the switch to the ground?

I would run the power wire straight from one of the optional plugs on the fuse box itself. I can imagine heated seats draw a good bit of current and could be a fire issue if not done correctly and ran of the small wires used to power the cig lighter.

Will any 12v 30a relay work or do I need the mitsuba 2201?
I'm thinking of running the power from option connector A with a 20a inline fuse to the main power of the relay, and connector E with a 15a inline fuse to the relay as a remote wire so it turns on when the ignition is on, sound right?

I went out today and got everything I need. I picked up 2 mitsuba rc2201 relays and I'm just trying to figure out how to wire the relay.
Also there are 2 connectors on the d/s seat and 1 on the p/s. the 1 on the p/s is the same as 1 of the 2 connectors on the d/s. these are both 2pin and are the power/ground for the seats, the second connector under the driver seat is a 3pin connector, what could this 3 pin connector be for.

I finished wiring in the driver side heated seat yesterday, everything seemed ok with the switch in low, but when I put the heated seat switch I got out of a 97 prelude into high it blows a fuse instantly.
I don't believe it's a short because I just spliced the 2 output wires into 1 so if there was a short it would be in both high and low. Also I have tried a second switch I got from the same prelude and it has the same problem.
Could this be caused by too small of a wire gauge? The wire on the prelude switch is pretty small(20g I think)

Think I figures it out, I'll be able to test this after I work.
On low the switch uses a wht/blu wire for power and grounds through the seat ground, and on high it switches power to the wht/red wire and grounds through the seat as well as the wht/blue wire turns into a ground through the switch and out the d/s heated switch ground. By having the wht/blu and wht/red wire spliced together it is causing a short as soon as I switch into high.
